Opportunities Unfolding
It has been over 10 years since the day we broke ground on our shop and began the process of hosting students here in Canterbury for an experience in woodworking. Over the years we have met some wonderful people - men and women who love wood and everything surrounding working in with it.
In order to extend our reach into the greater woodworking community, Tom is pursuing opportunities as well in both video/film, and print media. In fact, on Saturday, February 18 Tom appears on an episode of Rough Cut with Tommy Mac. The show airs on Boston's WGBH, public TV channel at 4:30 PM. Also forthcoming will be the postings of some vignette videos where Tom highlights a woodworking technique, giving a peek at the same time into the various proects he is working on. More on this endeavor is forthoming.
Class Offerings
We will be posting the 2012 Class Schedule shortly, providing some Saturday workshops that will offer a new twist to what we have done in the past. Enjoy a day in the shop with other woodworkers, under the light-spirited, experienced guidance of master craftsman Tom McLaughlin!
The dates of these classes will be posted very soon! Check back with us for that information so you can get registered for one, or two even!
Tom is looking forward to spending time with you in the shop so begin thinking now about carving a day out of your schedule to do that! In the meantime, give us a call or send us an email if you have any questions.
Recent Work
For those who like to see pieces that Tom has been working on, here's a peek. We referenced this project in our Fall newsletter showing you a picture of a small scale mockup.
It's a set of chairs made in a unique configuration. They surround a table Tom previously made for this same client, connecting into a perfect circle when not being used for dinner seating.
Last week Tom sent the chairs to the uphosterer who will prepare the seat cushions. Here it is on it's way to completion.

2012 Woodworking Classes
Running Saturday Classes in April, May and June -- specific dates forthcoming
Wood Expo 2012
From Thursday, February 23 to Sunday, February 26, Tom will be showing some of his work at the Wood Expo 2012, part of the New England Home Show series. It is being held at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. This is a pretty large furniture making display which is being provided in the midst o the Home Show, so it's well worth the trip if you can make it. For more information visit their website.
