With the constant news about our struggling economy there has never been a better time to invest in that “master craftsman” inside you and start making beautiful and valuable furniture for yourself.
And there has never been a better opportunity to check out a class here at McLaughlin Woods. Rather than watering down the recipe by offering more and more classes, our 2009 class schedule represents the “Best of” some our favorite classes.
You will find the class line-up has been concentrated in the summer months for your convenience and the registration fee eliminated for added savings and simplicity when signing up for a class.
As always, when you join us in the shop for some fun, you will continue to enjoy the finest instruction from talented professionals who are doubly blessed with a gift for passing on their knowledge in a patient, easy to understand and entertaining way. We love the craft and art of furniture making, and want to share it with you.
We look forward to making some shavings with you sometime. If you can find a class you like, we’ll have a bench with your name on it!
My Best,
Tom

The Workshop Book: Celebrating the place where craftmanship begins
We are honored to have been included in the Taunton Press publication: The Workshop, by Scott Gibson, photos by Randy O'Rourke. Through some phenomenal photography, and essays accounting each one's story, the author grants access into over 30 workshops of furniture makers, boat builders, and turners. Each workshop has a unique flair, specific to the craftsman who works there.
The shop pictured in the book is the place Tom rented for a while prior to building his own custom shop on his home property. Click here to take a peek inside the book. Look for the link on the left hand side to "Look inside the book". The third spread gives a glimpse of Tom's previous shop.
